Malabon City is a vibrant and rising city, steeped in rich heritage. Historically tied to the Spanish colonial era, it was once a bustling center for tobacco and sugar production. Today, it continues to excel in its delectable cuisine, particularly its famous fish cakes, longganisa, and a pancit named after the city.

To celebrate its rich history and culture, we were tasked with creating the app’s logo and interface design under the local creative agency, JLCG, led by its owner, Jet Legaspi. This is a direct project under Malabon City Government.

The app’s logo and design are inspired by iconic symbols of Malabon:
• San Bartolome Church: representing its religious foundations.
• The fish: symbolizing the rich, aquatic ecosystem and waterways.
• Bamboo: reflecting the city’s name, “Malabon” or “madaming lambong” (many bamboo shoots).
• The Malabon Ahon logo: embodying resilience and progress, mirroring the city’s spirit of overcoming challenges.

Along with the logo, we were able to come up with the tourism tagline "Where Tradition Flows With Innovation". This tagline captures the essence of Malabon City, where the idea is that time-honored customs and cutting-edge ideas merge today to create a dynamic and exciting destination.

As humanity transitions between real world experience and digital journeys, the app aims to help people navigate the city better and inspire visitors to explore the city's hidden gems and taste its unique charm.
